“Let Me Kiss You”
By:  Cathy Hargett
Sometimes He so stuns me when He speaks so intimately to my soul.  I never expect it.  He always surprises me.  It’s like suddenly I can hear Him.  I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time asking, searching, studying, praying without fully “hearing”.  But I so want to hear clearly.  There just always seems to be such a sense of “overwhelmed”!  His Word, His Life, His Ways – so, so high and above me.  By faith, I walk.  I understand that is what He wants and that is what is required of us who follow Him.
But then there will come those beautiful and astounding times when we know that we have really heard Him.  I cling to this with so much gratefulness, awe, and wonder!  Thank you, Yeshua, for speaking to us in all the many different and beautiful ways that you do.  You draw us.  We are so hungry to know you more.  We want to know you in deeper ways and to love and serve you in proportion to that “knowing”.
Today was one of those profound days when I did hear, ever so clearly.  I had been asking Him about some things regarding how to rightly understand some Scriptures that could be interpreted in many different ways and dimensions. It was thrilling to study.  The Word was going off like explosions in my heart. I was asking Him how to express a teaching on these passages without it being totally confusing in light of all the many diamond-like facets of it.
That’s when He said to me, words like, “in order to do that, you will first need to love those you teach deeply and without reserve like I love them, like I love you”.  And then, the next thing He said was very clear and stunning.  He said, “Let Me kiss you.”
It took my breath away.  And I understood Him. He was telling me that He would teach me and that I would understand because He was delivering His Word to me in great love and that is the way He intends me to deliver the Word to others. Letting Him love us releases understanding of His Word.  The rabbis called it “the kiss of Torah”.
Yes, please, Lord, kiss me with your Word, and I will know You, hear You, and love You more
“Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth. For your love is more delightful than wine.”
