2 Cor. 3:18 says, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” Our ongoing face to face encounters with the Lord through the Holy Spirit are working in us the power of His redemption, sanctification, and wisdom (1Cor.1:30). This is changing the disappointing “facts” which we see in us and around us into Christ’s Reality.
Stronger than the facts
You are my Reality
Beyond what I see
Facing me naturally
Speaking defeat
To my ears
Itching to hear
Something that is clear
In this atmosphere
Of death and disappointment
I forget my appointment
With truth
I listen for lies
Hopelessness in disguise
Luring my eyes
Toward fear’s face
Promising a trace
Of significance
In temporal arrogance
I take the bait
I didn’t wait
For Your face
Changing the facts
By faith’s attack
On falsehood
Exposing my good
As rubbish
Introducing Reality
Christ made unto me
I am in Him
He in me
Facts stand back
Truth comes through
I am face to face
With grace
Overcoming power
Fills the hour
Spirit’s might
Lifts me high
Above earth’s sphere
With facts so dear
I’m out of here
As I wait
For faith’s revelation
Refusing cognition
From my own understanding
Always demanding
A false measure
Pursuing treasures
That can’t satisfy
I now rely
On a different realm
Christ at the helm
Directing my thoughts
Above earth’s domain
To what is real
Beyond what I feel
In my weakened flesh
Christ and I mesh
I am crucified
Where facts die
Where grace is stronger
Than what I see
Transforming me
Into Christ’s Realty
