Isaiah 53:2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
A friend recently sent me a picture of the stump of an oak tree that they had cut down. At the top of the stump was brand new growth, it was like seeing scripture in picture. I immediately thought of the scripture in Isaiah 53 about a root out of dry ground. She thought of the scripture in Job 14 about a stump blooming at the very scent of water. There are times we feel cut off, almost like a tree stump, no longer a tall study tree, now we may feel alone, without hope without a purpose. Like the stump of that oak tree our time is past, we’ve ran our course the race is almost over, but God; He has a purpose, He sends his rain, and brings life to the root quickens us to come alive again, no we may never be that giant tree again, but we still have fight in us, we still give shade to one who is weary, a place of rest for a robin to build her nest.
Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
We are in the Last days, we are being worn out by the evil plots of satan. The changes in our world have happened so quickly the laws and mandates are putting us in bondage and total reliance on government and not on God. Again, believers are made to feel like that cut off stump, where do we go, what do we do when we are being oppressed in these trying times?
Job 14: 7-9 For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots ill not cease. 8 Though its root may grow old in the earth, and its stump may die in the ground,9 Yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant.
Right now, our Spirit man is hungry and thirsty for more of God. We thirst almost like we are in a desert. It is our desire as the sons and daughters of God to come forth into our purpose. We are hungering and thirsting for the word of God. It is the only thing that brings us peace, it is the only thing that brings our soul out of the dry places and restores us, and revives us to stand in these trying times. There is a void in our soul, to some it is like a vacuum, and it can only be filled with the things of God. We are no longer satisfied living in part of the Word; we must have the deep things of God to take us to the next level in our walk.
The church has lost its way, it has compromised with the world. They preach a watered-down gospel, a weak milk toast word that leaves us hungrier and thirstier for something meaty and full of meaning. Where are the true men of God who stand for righteousness and preach and teach the word with fervor and power. We’ve been feed lies and things that leave us wanting something to chew on and learn from.
I believe we are in a time of judgment and chastening by our heavenly Father, not because He hates us, but because He loves us so much. He is not content to see us as dying stumps, but as living trees of righteousness, plantings of the Lord so that He will be glorified. He is bringing correction to the whole Body of Christ –His Church. Stop feeding the people milk, (and skim milk at that), and begin to serve fresh bread, meat and strong meat. The only way to overcome in these last days is with hidden manna, to search out the scriptures and bring life again to the deadness in His church. Young, old, male, female, we all need a fresh dose of the Holy Ghost. An outpouring of His Spirit again cry out for it, pray for it and seek it with all your heart. The Spirit has been quenched long enough, it is time to seek the Lord while He may be found, and become that “glorious church without spot or wrinkle”.
Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come forth a Rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of the knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
